As a public school teacher I'm begging you all, please save us. Contact your admins, school boards and superintendents. Even if you don't have children, you are still considered a stakeholder.

I have a health credential, and back when I started we weren't even allowed to demonstrate putting condoms on bananas let alone talk explicitly about homosexual sex, other than to mention that any kind of sexual contact can put you at risk for STDs. I don't know how in such a short time we're suddenly full-on gender bread. I teach in an area that gets on the news for this curriculum, but luckily have yet to see it pop up in my local schools or the schools my friends teach in. So maybe it's not as widespread as you may think - but let's not let it get there! I have been to teacher workshops that are not about the trans issue, but have passed out trans literature to us. I have experienced an admin mentioning "displaying your pronouns is just one small thing you can do to make your online environment more inclusive." I have colleagues who sport their pronouns on pins, but they were in the English and social science departments. Unfortunately I have a science colleague who is now sharing pronouns in response to admin's suggestion. I honestly don't think these folks are looking any deeper into it other than "let's be nice" as the whole movement reminds us all of the long battle for acceptance LGB people have fought. So people need to face the facts about sex segregated sports and what that means for our girls' success. They need to know what is really going on with hormone replacement and surgeries for young people. I don't think they know! I'm just one grumpy teacher sending anonymous communications because my ass is on the line. Nobody listens to us anyway. Please contact your school boards superintendents and administrators!

I contact school boards whenever this hits the news, but I think we need to organize so we can have concerted campaigns to target school boards.

The US gender lobby is targeting kids as young as pre-kindergarten to 5th grade with yearly, nationwide readings of "I AM JAZZ" and the super-extra horrible part about this is the US's largest teachers union, the National Education Association, is co-sponsoring the readings with the gender propaganda outlet/former gay rights organization, Human Rights Campaign.

So the US teachers union is all in on this indoctrination too.

I do think we need to ask a famous writer like Abigail Shrier to write more on this topic. Anyone on Twitter who can contact Shrier?

That would be great. I've mentioned here before The National Science Teacher Association has published one op-ed and then a subsequent response from the editor and other respondents in their high school publication - who knows what they're publishing in their middle school and other publications. It's a trip. If I had an adequate file sharing service available I'd share.

I really need to get around to writing an anon letter telling them I'll not be renewing my membership and why. I just need to get my shit together with some well-sourced scientific papers as to why this is dangerous.

I so miss the old editor. He was unabashed about our duty to teach facts, critical thinking, and argumentation in science, and he often centered climate change. Now every issue has social justice interwoven. I've spent my teaching career centering my practice on making sure ALL students can access my curriculum, so I can't tell if I'm just salty at the implication that I haven't been doing that until BLM became mainstream, or if their suggestions to increase engagement really are window dressing garbage.

(Edit to add for those not familiar with teacher jargon: When we say "access for all students" it's not an "all lives matter" dodge, it's a call to action to make sure our practices don't exclude any demographic of student - often times the emphasis is considering disabilities as well as culture)

There are resources available to help with information for your letter. Try Transgender Trend and Fair Play for Women, there's also Safe Schools (I hope I'm getting the names of these right).

It's so incredibly scary that in 2020 a science teacher has to be anonymous when they write a letter to a science teachers' association about how science needs to be kept about science and not feelings...

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.

I tell you, I feel like I'm living in crazy world. It was bad enough having to constantly battle with the Jehovas Witness families in my area over evolution curriculum, but at least my district and state had my back. In every case, once the initial complaint was made, the district curriculum lead would step in and shield me from further communication with the complainers. I seriously doubt I will have the same support on this issue because the trans movement is colonizing the LGB movement. In schools we already have in place certain protections for LGB students, protections that trans students already have. But they're getting their pronoun policing and denial of science shoehorned. If I "slip up" and say that hemophilia is an x-linked trait only passed down from the mother instead of birthing parent, that shouldn't be hate speech.

Colin Wright, a GC biologist (as all biologists should be) is now an editor (?) at Quillette, a site that often runs GC pieces.

Would you consider writing your story anonymously for publication? There are a few sites now running GC pieces.

There's also Dr. Emma Hilton, a biologist, who is known as Dr. Fond of Beetles. She's in the UK, but she routinely correct transgender lobby propaganda regarding biology, it seems pretty much wherever she sees it. Both are easily found by a web search, but if you need me to get their info and /or the info of other GC publications let me know.

I'm sure you know of the Scope's monkey trial in the US, the trial about the teaching of evolution in schools? It was science against theology, basically. I think we need another Scopes trial between biologists and gender woo-woo-ists.

We need a test case and a brave science teacher (I am NOT suggesting you) to stand up for biology, so that the whole country can see what nonsense the gender lobby is pumping into our children.

I would love to get their contact info! I would especially love to see what Dr. Hilton thinks of the professional development curriculum AP Biology teacher Sam Long is putting out.

Yes yes, I think it's near time for another Scopes Monkey trial to settle this nonsense from the science side of things. I think part of the issue is they're coming in the back door through the humanities where there just isn't enough pushback. I really hope the test case does not involve me! I'm trying my best to think about my positions so that I can remain consistent and strong while also protecting myself and my students.

I am going to send you a private message with Colin Wright and Emma Hiltons' contact information.

If anyone else wants these, message me, I'll look at your posting history and see if you seem legit and then send.
