This mother seems to be taking on gender ideology and pronoun nonsense being taught in Denver schools and wants to organize.

There are already very conservative groups fighting this in schools. One is called MASS RESISTANCE. But this woman is a liberal.

Schools truly are a battleground because Trans, Inc. is sending orgs like Gender Spectrum into them to indoctrinate gender fairy woo woo into very young kids' heads, so please consider helping her form a group!

In USSR everything was starting in schools too, with Pioneer groups, and "hero stories" about Pavlik Morozov and similar "heroes".

All authroritarian regimes always going for kids first.

You are so right!

I think that in countries where gender ideology is being rammed into the heads of young kids, we as a "movement" need to tackle education first. We need to organize and we need to scream NO, otherwise we lose the next generations to this dangerous, ridiculous, body and soul-crushing ideology.

As I said, in the US there are a few groups trying to stop teaching the grotesque, pornified, gender special sex ed, but most are very conservative, like MASS RESISTANCE.

However, there's a politically-mixed group of parent in Arlington, Virginia, who have formed an organization to stop the teaching of this horrific, gender bullshit, sex-ed in schools.

There's also a California group of politically-mixed parents at one school near Thousand Oaks IIRC. That group started at spontaneous anger at what the school was teaching kids. But statewide California implemented a truly creep sex ed program. I read that Abigail Shrier talks about it in her book IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE.

For whatever reason, California and Arlington Virginia are where the gender lobby rolled out this sex-ed teaching, which they hope to implement across the US. I guess it's being tried in Denver too, and this mother at OP is putting up a brave fight.

More info on the crap the gender lobby wants to pull across the US:

https://www.redstate.com/alexparker/2019/06/13/parents-struggle-challenge-virginia-school-districts-impending-transgender-policy-takes-away-rights/

Here is the Arlington parents' coalition website - I don't think you have to be in Virginia to join:

https://arlingtonparentcoa.wixsite.com/arlingtonparentcoa

American women, we need to call our school district and yell NO. Also, we need to organize with other parents (maybe join the Arlington parents?) and attend school board meetings as well as contact the state's education departments.

Do you want your children and grandchildren to grow up with indoctrinated uncertainty in who they are, what they are, and what they're attracted to?

Do you want them to be lifelong medical experiments, like the kids sucked into the trans craze now?

Then ACT. NOW.

need to tackle education first

Yeah, education system is not working at all, and it need fixing, but instead of fixing it is hijacked by TRA.

I've read recently few articles about "UK (and USA) is failing to educate boys". And in those articles I've seen so weird things, like "girls used to sit more at home because of social pressure, so they are reading more textbooks and books, while more than half of boys are finishing school without reading a single book or textbook". And that made me "What?". In our educational system (modernized soviet one) it is just impossible at all. I guess no wonder that grades here are somewhat similar for both sexes. Plus majority of our exams are actually exams, and not just tests with checkboxes, kids need to explain why they did this and that, make their own conclusions. It was so weird to read about your education systems.

With TRA it is a bit harder for them to completely overdo minds of young kids, because they are destroying kids bodies with it, so for those kids it will be much harder to believe in what they were programmed to believe by gender ideology education, as it hurt them. It will still raise a lot of stupid people in 15-20 years from now, and those people could go into politics or media and promote what they were told today by those gender ideologists.

That is why it must be stopped as fast as possible!

Thanks for those insights - I love hearing about what's happening in other countries. Your English is amazing - If you're a product of that educational system then it's obviously working very well!

In the US, the Republicans deliberately de-funded education decades ago. Just your daily reminder that the Republicans work for the super rich, and even if you are upper middle-class now, your grandkids won't be because the GOP wants the very rich to become super extremely rich and the rest of us to be dirt poor, like eating dirt poor. If they even let us live- we are after all only consumers or useless eaters.

And the Democrats work for Trans, Inc.

So we here in the Land of the Free are screwed.

[–]VioletRemi 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I was never studying English in school, only two years in University, and the it was mostly self-learning - I know many words, but not the rules of English language :D

We were studying how to learn new stuff, in general. So many people from here are fast learners. I guess that may be one of reasons why so many people from here are hired to USA companies and competing there with Harvard graduates :D

deliberately de-funded education decades ago

That kinda sux.

work for the super rich

More like they are super rich ones themselves too, and have a % in that. What I've seen is that both Blue and Red parties in USA are very burocratic. At least if judging by funding and laws they are making when coming to power - it is always about something they have a share in.

to become super extremely rich and the rest of us to be dirt poor

Isn't it the "american dream"? A hope that one day you will become same super rich millionaire, and will walk over heads of others, like they were walking over your head.

So we here in the Land of the Free are screwed.

Actually both parties were always pissing me off. Every time one or another comes, women rights and protections were flipped around. I always felt like USA politicians are not even thinking about women as of people, it is just something about us, without actually asking us, and every time just instantly flipping laws around, without any thought. I am not american, but that was so annoying to watch.

[–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Just the fact you know the script is amazing to me. Then, that you can communicate better than many Americans makes you a superstar.

Yes, the American Dream is very much about working hard and becoming a millionaire. And I have met many, many people for whom the American Dream has come true, including immigrants who didn't speak English when they got here.

But that was before, now with our dumbed-down educational system, healthcare that's the most expensive in the developed world (and many poor countries have cheaper in proportion health care too), higher-learning that literally costs a fortune, automation and other factors, I don't know how much the American Dream is accessible to anyone except people who have a solid gold bank account to being with.

The Democrats did support women in some concrete strides, but now it's pretty much only conservative groups allied with the Republicans who are fighting for women. Except for small, donor-reliant groups like WoLF, FIST, Save Women's Sports and the Women's Human Rights Campaign. So, American women, please scrape your pennies together and GIVE to these brave women groups fighting for all of us.

[–]VioletRemi 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

healthcare that's the most expensive in the developed world

We have healthcare here that is doing for free even some complex surgeries. Full medical examinations are yearly and free as well. Payed is often only medications/pills and something special or super hard.

And I have met many, many people for whom the American Dream has come true, including immigrants who didn't speak English when they got here.

The thing is that they are dozens, out of hundreds millions.

only conservative groups allied with the Republicans who are fighting for women

And they are still against abortions and not allowing women to decide about our bodies.

WoLF and FIST sounds like really nice organizations. Something must be done, just talking in the internet is not enough!

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

But the opportunity used to be there for Americans to greatly better themselves economically. I went to a very poor grade school, some of the kids lived in shacks, about a third didn't speak English at home, and still kids who had the drive managed to get into the middle to upper-middle class. Those opportunities are pretty much gone.

Yes, talking on the internet is great to vent, to feel supported and to gather courage, but it's really important to DO something, even if it's just (anonymously) protesting a company's gender baloney.

And also tell others. If we each told one other person a day to check out Ovarit, or SAIDIT GC or WoLF twitter or FIST's website, or...we would gain numbers rapidly. And numbers are what we need RIGHT NOW.

LOL. The establishment Dems also "wants the very rich to become super extremely rich and the rest of us to be dirt poor, like eating dirt poor." Don't kid yourself. Bezos contributes to Both parties, most ultra rich do. The parties became "different sides of the same coin" long ago.

[–]VioletRemi 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The parties became "different sides of the same coin" long ago.

Hard not to become like that with complete monopoly on power.

Holy Mary this woman is tough!

I've seen this lady around GC Twitter for a few years - she's fierce. I think her daughter (s?) are serious competitive athletes, like maybe even Olympic-level. To get anywhere near that level requires true grit and it's obvious that the daughter inherited some of it from her.

[–]Baileyscheesecakes 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Kudos to this mom! She articulates her argument beautifully. She makes a point that I've been thinking about for some time now: that we are dealing with two conflicting sets of worldviews, and neither side is likely to persuade the other of its "correctness." It reminds me of atheists and religious people. Those groups, or at least the people I've known, have accepted that they cannot change the other side and so try to find ways to live harmoniously side by side. This seems unlikely with TRAs' hostility toward anyone and anything they disagree with. I hope this mother is successful in rallying support and preventing the indoctrination of her children.

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Given that conservative groups, like MASS RESISTANCE, fighting this porn sex ed exist, I'm glad this lady is a liberal because Democrats truly think that the only ones who are resisting gender feels are conservatives.

As a public school teacher I'm begging you all, please save us. Contact your admins, school boards and superintendents. Even if you don't have children, you are still considered a stakeholder.

I have a health credential, and back when I started we weren't even allowed to demonstrate putting condoms on bananas let alone talk explicitly about homosexual sex, other than to mention that any kind of sexual contact can put you at risk for STDs. I don't know how in such a short time we're suddenly full-on gender bread. I teach in an area that gets on the news for this curriculum, but luckily have yet to see it pop up in my local schools or the schools my friends teach in. So maybe it's not as widespread as you may think - but let's not let it get there! I have been to teacher workshops that are not about the trans issue, but have passed out trans literature to us. I have experienced an admin mentioning "displaying your pronouns is just one small thing you can do to make your online environment more inclusive." I have colleagues who sport their pronouns on pins, but they were in the English and social science departments. Unfortunately I have a science colleague who is now sharing pronouns in response to admin's suggestion. I honestly don't think these folks are looking any deeper into it other than "let's be nice" as the whole movement reminds us all of the long battle for acceptance LGB people have fought. So people need to face the facts about sex segregated sports and what that means for our girls' success. They need to know what is really going on with hormone replacement and surgeries for young people. I don't think they know! I'm just one grumpy teacher sending anonymous communications because my ass is on the line. Nobody listens to us anyway. Please contact your school boards superintendents and administrators!

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I contact school boards whenever this hits the news, but I think we need to organize so we can have concerted campaigns to target school boards.

The US gender lobby is targeting kids as young as pre-kindergarten to 5th grade with yearly, nationwide readings of "I AM JAZZ" and the super-extra horrible part about this is the US's largest teachers union, the National Education Association, is co-sponsoring the readings with the gender propaganda outlet/former gay rights organization, Human Rights Campaign.

So the US teachers union is all in on this indoctrination too.

I do think we need to ask a famous writer like Abigail Shrier to write more on this topic. Anyone on Twitter who can contact Shrier?

[–]msteacherlady 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

That would be great. I've mentioned here before The National Science Teacher Association has published one op-ed and then a subsequent response from the editor and other respondents in their high school publication - who knows what they're publishing in their middle school and other publications. It's a trip. If I had an adequate file sharing service available I'd share.

I really need to get around to writing an anon letter telling them I'll not be renewing my membership and why. I just need to get my shit together with some well-sourced scientific papers as to why this is dangerous.

I so miss the old editor. He was unabashed about our duty to teach facts, critical thinking, and argumentation in science, and he often centered climate change. Now every issue has social justice interwoven. I've spent my teaching career centering my practice on making sure ALL students can access my curriculum, so I can't tell if I'm just salty at the implication that I haven't been doing that until BLM became mainstream, or if their suggestions to increase engagement really are window dressing garbage.

(Edit to add for those not familiar with teacher jargon: When we say "access for all students" it's not an "all lives matter" dodge, it's a call to action to make sure our practices don't exclude any demographic of student - often times the emphasis is considering disabilities as well as culture)

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

There are resources available to help with information for your letter. Try Transgender Trend and Fair Play for Women, there's also Safe Schools (I hope I'm getting the names of these right).

It's so incredibly scary that in 2020 a science teacher has to be anonymous when they write a letter to a science teachers' association about how science needs to be kept about science and not feelings...

[–]msteacherlady 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.

I tell you, I feel like I'm living in crazy world. It was bad enough having to constantly battle with the Jehovas Witness families in my area over evolution curriculum, but at least my district and state had my back. In every case, once the initial complaint was made, the district curriculum lead would step in and shield me from further communication with the complainers. I seriously doubt I will have the same support on this issue because the trans movement is colonizing the LGB movement. In schools we already have in place certain protections for LGB students, protections that trans students already have. But they're getting their pronoun policing and denial of science shoehorned. If I "slip up" and say that hemophilia is an x-linked trait only passed down from the mother instead of birthing parent, that shouldn't be hate speech.

[–]BEB[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Colin Wright, a GC biologist (as all biologists should be) is now an editor (?) at Quillette, a site that often runs GC pieces.

Would you consider writing your story anonymously for publication? There are a few sites now running GC pieces.

There's also Dr. Emma Hilton, a biologist, who is known as Dr. Fond of Beetles. She's in the UK, but she routinely correct transgender lobby propaganda regarding biology, it seems pretty much wherever she sees it. Both are easily found by a web search, but if you need me to get their info and /or the info of other GC publications let me know.

I'm sure you know of the Scope's monkey trial in the US, the trial about the teaching of evolution in schools? It was science against theology, basically. I think we need another Scopes trial between biologists and gender woo-woo-ists.

We need a test case and a brave science teacher (I am NOT suggesting you) to stand up for biology, so that the whole country can see what nonsense the gender lobby is pumping into our children.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scopes_Trial

[–]msteacherlady 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I would love to get their contact info! I would especially love to see what Dr. Hilton thinks of the professional development curriculum AP Biology teacher Sam Long is putting out.

Yes yes, I think it's near time for another Scopes Monkey trial to settle this nonsense from the science side of things. I think part of the issue is they're coming in the back door through the humanities where there just isn't enough pushback. I really hope the test case does not involve me! I'm trying my best to think about my positions so that I can remain consistent and strong while also protecting myself and my students.

I am going to send you a private message with Colin Wright and Emma Hiltons' contact information.

If anyone else wants these, message me, I'll look at your posting history and see if you seem legit and then send.
