I always thought muslims praying 5 times a day seemed fucking excessive. Even if you believe, can't you just like give god a mental high 5 throughout your day? But it makes sense. You have to reinforce a lie constantly and not allow and opposition to be spoken if you want to give the lie power.

This is a bit off topic, but anyway. I secretly hope that while this whole TRA horseshit unravels and people see it for what it is - brainwashing - they might be a bit more critical about religions too. Not hateful, mind you: but fearlessly critical. Nobody is born a believer, they're brainwashed into it. Sounds harsh? Too bad, it's still true.

I am very biased about any religious topics due to my own past. I acknowledge that. I also detest the fact that we are supposed to (according to intersectional feminists) praise anyone who "out of their free will" gets their clits cut off, wears clothing that is nothing short of demeaning/shaming, follows a doctrine that is extremely misogynist, thinks being gay is a sinful phase that can be "sorted out..." So on.

By the way: aside from the FGM I wasn't even talking about Islam, because that's what y'all secretly thought of, didn't you. ;) The other shit happens as well, in many lovely, loving, family-oriented Christian communities. I speak of vast amount of experience, not just my own but of many people close to me. In many ways I think my past in a brainwashing environment made my "this does NOT sound right nor just" radar become very effective.

Silver linings, I suppose.
