I heard an interesting interview with Jonathon Haidt who co-founded the Heterodox Academy. The concern he and other academics have given the surge of Wokeness in universities is that Republicans will pull all funding from the Humanities.

I've listened to many of Haidt's videos. I'm not sure what the solution is. The problem with ideological extremists in universities is that they are so dug in that it's hard to imagine how to deal with them. Departments have completely lost the capacity to self-correct. You would almost have to shut them down and start over again with fresh hires. And then, where would you find fresh hires that didn't share the same ideology as the ones you'd let go? It's very depressing. I was once a true believer in university education, and I've seen it corrupted over the last twenty-five years by ideologues.

I always expected that the kids would go to the best university that would have them. Now, I don't think that they should go to university at all, because of this PoMo rubbish. I want them to learn critical thinking, not how to be even more annoyingly Woke than they are.
