For the last three years I have gotten the "how many genders are there" in science class once each year, and it's always been from some griefer kid. Really puts me in a tight spot. These boys are trying to disrupt class by giving a hard time to the NB kids in the room while I'm just trying to draw a damn Punnet square on the board. What I'm trying to say is I would bet the cash in my wallet right now ($20.63) that given another social climate Danny's quote would be something about vegans and hamburgers. If I lost that twenty and change, I'd be happy to be wrong.

Just tell them gender is a social construct, not a part of the hard sciences. They're better off asking the English, Social Studies, or Arts teacher. Soft sciences and arts got themselves into this mess with their lenses and identity and PoMo shit. They can get themselves out.

Ha! That's what I said in fact. Gender is a social construct, and more the domain of sociology, not science, so in this course I will only be talking about biological sex. Ahem. Moving on...

The young teachers wearing pronoun pins at my site are a math and English teacher. Best of luck to 'em!
