I think this all stems from the watering down of the word 'violence'.

I think it would be easy to dismiss these pro-school-shooters as a fringe group of Twitter weirdos, but the ideology that collapses the distinction between words and deeds has been creeping into the mainstream for some time now. A heterodox opinion is seen as tantamount to throwing a punch or, in the case of trans ideologues, a call for genocide. Therefore, when a trans ideologue throws a real punch it can be dismissed as an act of 'self-defence'.

And now we have "Kill a TERF" turning into actuall killing.

It already did.

See Dana Rivers.

This is 100% no different from when incels sympathize with their ilk killing women. “Well, MAYBE he wouldn’t have done it if he wasn’t treated like shit by all you ungrateful, shallow, materialistic b****es in the first place.”

Inventing “discrimination” based on someone not giving you something you are not entitled to, and then reasoning that because you have not received it, all gloves are off.

That's exactly it.

She: the shooter is a TIF.

You just misgendered someone, you're just as bad and violent as a school shooter /s

This isn't an aberration, the movement is doing this deliberately to justify violence against anyone who disagrees. It will continue until a majority start pushing back against it.

The "T" in TRA increasingly seems to stand for "terrorist".

Ideology aside even so many of them are just awful people.

[Of course also just keep in mind that a "transphobe" to them is literally just anyone they don't like. Could be someone who just looks at them the wrong way.]

[–]MarkTwainiac 33 insightful - 1 fun33 insightful - 0 fun34 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I've seen TRAs explicitly calling not just for violence against those who don't go along with their cult, but for a campaign of terror and mass killing against us all too. It's very much reminiscent of Robespierre's view that a society must aim to achieve "virtue through terror" that he articulated in 1794 amidst the mass-executions stage of the French revolution known as the Reign of Terror:

The attribute of popular government in a revolution is at one and the same time virtue and terror. Terror without virtue is fatal; virtue without terror is impotent. The terror is nothing but justice, prompt, severe, inflexible; it is thus an emanation of virtue.

[–]DistantGlimmer 18 insightful - 1 fun18 insightful - 0 fun19 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's legitimately terrifying. I'm just waiting for one of them to actually commit a massacre and then for the others to start with the "no true transwomen" shit. We've already had Rivers and other cases of serious violence like this school shooting, this is not all just LARPing with them.

But comforting to know that Robespierre's reign of terror was turned against him later in 1794, and he, too, was led to the guillotine.

[–]MarkTwainiac 20 insightful - 1 fun20 insightful - 0 fun21 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I personally don't find it "comforting," though I understand why others might. And the downfall and death of Robespierre and the rest of his Jacobin cronies on the "Committee of Public Safety" certainly shows where his kind of murderous, psychopathic mentality sometimes inevitably leads.

Unfortunately, over the course of history many other leaders who have espoused a similar philosophy and unleashed reigns of terror that killed many more people - such as Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot of Cambodia/Kampuchea, Botha et al of South Africa, Idi Amin of Uganda, Bokassa of the Republic of Central Africa/CAR, Charles Taylor of Liberia, Lubanga of the Congo, and before him King Leopold of Belgium during his reign of terror in the Congo, Pinochet of Chile, both the Shah and his successor the Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran, and many others - have not ended up so quickly hoist by their own petard. In fact, many of these mass-murdering men went on to live a very long time after and whilst causing so much slaughter, eventually dying of natural causes (or in a few cases, at their own hand) without ever being held to account.

So whilst it might seem gratifying to know that Robespierre got his comeuppance, what happened to him and his fellow Jacobin leaders in 1794 is hardly typical. Too often bad guys who espouse and practice terror get away with it, a fact that I find hardly consoling.

And in the end he got the same treatment he advocated for...Almost like terror was not the answer (also something something purity spiral)

They truly are not capable of seeing those outside of their own group as actual people. It shows a complete lack of empathy.

INCELS are joining the TRA’s movement to force lesbians to have sex with them. Does no one else see the similarities between some of the current TRA logic and Incel logic?? https://wombyna-ovaryhaver.tumblr.com/post/615582838589472768/trans-reddit-incelmgtownazi-edition

Listen, I fucking hate it when people put their own necessities beyond the rest of the world. You've been bullied? That's rough and I'm sorry, but of course it's not fucking excuse to hurt someone in anyway. People are more concerned to call this person for their pronouns more than the awful shit they've done? Fuck off, you'll always be a murderer, good luck in the men's prisons

[–]Realwoman 17 insightful - 2 fun17 insightful - 1 fun18 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Yep, I was bullied mercilessly in school, I'm still affected by it and I'm never going to forgive those that hurt me. But I never murdered anyone or wished anyone any actual harm, wtf?

Yep, I'm wondering if that young girl is going to want to switch to a women's prison at some point.

[–]Criticalofgender 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

First of all, I'm sorry that you went through that, hope that you are doing much better and surrounded by people who love you!

Second of all, I totally agree, I'm sure that she will ask to transfer to a women's prison, it already happened a similar situation in Argentina and said TIF pleaded to not be sent to the men's one

Thank you!

Do you have a link about the Argentinian story?

It's still useful, thank you, Google translate helps somewhat.

So it looks like they denied her request?

They want their cake and to eat it too. These people fall into a category "fair weather friends". They skip from side to side depending on which side is giving them more freebies. And of course, they want none of the responsibilities of either side.

Was she on testosterone? Because I keep hearing a lot of anecdotal evidence of a link between TiFs on T and increased aggression/violence...

Should be researched, but probably won't...

[–]jet199 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It has been researched.

The offending rate of women on testosterone rises to meet that of men's.

They really think we're going to give in to their denial of biology because of terrorism? I sure as fuck won't.

I can't get Twitter to load. Is it in the US? Don't they have no school because of corona now?

In article it is written that it is was May 2019, but sentenced only recently. Here an article: https://archive.is/cgNMT

So many hate. How is it not a hate speech?

So far this new wave transgenders killed more people in last 3-5 years, than there were killed transgenders in last two decades.

Teen told that stearted shooting because was bullied and was called with wrong pronoun

Imagine if every gay man or lesbian woman was shooting for being bulliet? Imagine if all women started shooting back for abuses? I doubt anyone would be praising that. But transgender, ofc, he was called with wrong pronoun - that is bullying worth taking people lives. Suuuure.

I believe the actual incident took place last year, but the perpetrator was sentenced in the last few weeks.

Aren't pretty much all teenage school shooters bullied kids? I certainly have sympathy and could see an insanity defense, and perhaps mental health treatment is needed.

But we still can't just let people off for shooting people.

[–]Riothamus 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

That's a myth, actually.

The Columbine shooters were the bullies. Dylan Klebold had been popular before he started hanging out with Eric Harris, a sociopath with a messianic-level superiority complex. Unfortunately the "they were bullied" narrative took off when they were still suspected as being part of the Trenchcoat Mafia, which actually was bullied (by Harris).

So in an attempt to sympathize with bullied people the media ended up blaming the victims of Columbine.
