I personally just look at the issue as "women's rights and trans rights are in competition" rather than labeling the issue as "male nonsense" or even really nonsense. It's very complex in my view. I think there are some people with genuine dysphoria that may be best treated through medical interventions, others with dysphoria better treated through psychological interventions and still others who may not be suffering from dysphoria.

I try to just focus on what are the places where trans rights interfere with women's rights or potential safety. I think probably focusing on that would help to win over friends to see what's at stake. No matter what someone thinks of the source of trans identity, most people agree that there are places where women's rights have been trampled on to make way for trans rights, and that's where my focus is, without needing to determine what the motivations of any individual trans person or organization might be.
