Places to write a blog?

Hi All, I am recently retired and therefore no longer at risk of losing my job for 'wrongthink'. Now that I have time on my hands I was wondering whether there is a platform that I could use to write a GC blog and allow responses. Yes, I know that I will likely be doxxed and yes I know that I will definitely be slammed. However, I have time on my hands and feel passionate about these issues.

Please be aware however that I am older so if you can recommend something please ELI5...

Livejournal? It might work. Russian owned now so I can't see them taking down GC stuff.

Perhaps an established GC-oriented site would be interested in contributors? That would give you a built-in audience, eliminate the tech learning curve, and possibly provide an extra layer of protection from doxxing. There are many blog/site services you can use for free (blogger, WordPress, etc.) but at this point I worry they too will eventually bring down the hammer for wrong think.

Whatever you decide, if you ever want to run a piece by someone I do a lot of editing in my day job! A couple of things I would recommend are Grammarly for catching minor mistakes/typos and a reference manager such as Mendeley if you find yourself citing a lot of external sources. Whatever site you use, make sure you keep a backup on your computer.

Angelfire ist still around at a 12 $ yearly cost, and probably too old-fashioned now to attract TRA CEOs.

There’s also Wordpress as well, but I think you have to pay for it. It should show up if you decide to search it in a search engine

If I were going to start a blog, I would absolutely do it on my own domain. If the current state of free speech has taught us anything, it's don't rely on someone else to host your thoughts.

You can set up a wordpress site on Go Daddy for $7.00 a month. It's easy to use, and comes with a domain name.

Thank you for all of your responses. I am still learning how to navigate this site and must have notifications turned off as I only just noticed the little red envelope by my user name and saw that you had replied.

I'll have to keep adapting before I start anything up as I want it to be modern enough for users to be able to navigate and ensure my thoughts are collected in how I would like to present information.
