One of the things that stood out to me was the overlap between the transgender community and the erotic hypnosis community. If you go on youtube you can find submission, bimbo, sissy, male-to-female transformation etc. hypnosis files with hundreds of thousands of views. There are children openly commenting on the videos.

A brief anecdote of my own experience (I was curious...), I found the state induced by hypnosis to be a unique state of mind, quite unlike regular sexual arousal induced by pornography. I would go so far as to call it an altered state of consciousness. What stood out to me was how strong a shift I felt in my psyche. I actually felt like an entirely different person, like my sense of self had changed. I felt euphoria and sexual craving for topics I never would otherwise . In other words, the hypnosis seemed to use the subconscious to create new sexual interests/kinks, and prevent inhibitions from getting in the way of that process. It felt really good and I craved to go deeper and explore the state I was in, but I didn't because the state of mind persisted for quite a long time after the youtube file was over. I felt like I didn't know where it would end up if I continued. There was a strange mental feeling of submissiveness and powerlessness in the hypnotic state, and I felt vulnerable and it felt like I might not ever go back to normal if I wasn't careful. I was afraid of not being able to return to my usual self. So I didn't try it again. Maybe some people can't stop and become addicted.

What was clear to me after that one experience was the power of the hypnotic state. If you haven't tried it, you have no idea what it can do to the mind. It's not some stage performance; it's a real and powerful way to transform the psyche and cause lasting changes. I suppose that's why hypnotherapy exists. So it seems to me that if one were to sincerely enjoy erotic hypnosis and continue it, they would be exposed to more and more kinks (literally everything I've seen on /r/itsafetish has an erotic hypnosis correlate) and their sense of identity would change to integrate these new sexual interests as part of the self. It's not just a kink, it's who I am.

So I think it's not at all a coincidence that the transgender phenomenon is growing as porn and erotic hypnosis becomes more common and accepted as a harmless internet presence. I have no clue how anime fits in to all this, although there is erotic hypnosis with futa themes that I've seen, and there may be more overlap between anime and hypnosis that I haven't seen.

I would expect there to be an emergence of more and more transgender people as time goes on because, as you may have seen, transgender groups on social media are in the habit of convincing confused young people that they are transgender and should transition. Exposure to this type of pornography and hypnosis, combined with hoards of people not just encouraging you, but applauding your transgender identity and offering a place for you to belong and feel more acceptance for yourself (I believe dysphoria is the ego's resistance to the change in personality that occurs from behaving in sexual ways inconsistent with old personal values or social gender norms) makes it more likely, I believe, that an individual would completely adopt an identity as a transgender person. One's entire view of reality changes dramatically over time, which is why they cannot understand rational arguments from gendercritical people. They're literally arguing from two different realities. Good luck trying to get someone to agree that their reality is false. This doesn't work for anyone, sane or psychotic. They'd call you crazy or accuse you of trying to gaslight them.

Of course, these are just my thoughts. I don't know if I'm right or not. I don't care much what happens to society at any rate, but I just think it's really fascinating (in a morbid way) to watch it all unfolding the way it is.

So true! I went to a very experienced, extremely good hypnotist once. He had helped someone I knew a LOT. My husband went with me and sat in on the session. It was nothing like the swinging watch thing people talk about, just very gentle talking with my eyes closed. It did help the issue I was having, and I had good vibes throughout, but I also learned I'm quite suggestible if I allow it. At a different point I asked my husband one evening to help me with some guided meditation to sleep better. He only got a few minutes into describing beautiful nature scenes before I had to tell him to stop, I was way too awake and mentally stimulated. I had VIVID dreams that night.

I do kind of wish hypnotists for birth were a thing - hypnosis can apparently really decrease pain.

Hypnobirthing is relatively popular. It's self-hypnosis though. If you meant actual hypnotists I'm not sure about that.

True, I was meaning more actual hypnotists. I'm not sure how effective self hypnosis would be for pain control - at least, not for someone like me. They want people not to think about any of the possible bad outcomes of labor, and that would make me SUPER anxious, lol.

I'm a midwife and I've had lots of clients use it - I find (as a very general rule) if they are really invested it in and can put up with the "picture your cervix dilating... blah blah blah" to regularly do it (you're supposed to do the visualizations throughout pregnancy to prepare), it can really make a difference. Those women often manage pain a lot more internally (sort of turn into themselves) and without outside support, I have found.

That's good to know! I know my mother's deliveries really varied in experience, with one of them being almost painless when she had had several pregnancies and knew what to expect. She used to teach breathing and act as a companion during labor to the disadvantaged women we were around, many of whom expected it to be constant screaming and awful pain. Thanks for the input!
