I've had this fun experience. I had a mirena iud put in and it made me really ill immediately, but I was told there was an adjustment period. Three years later I couldn't take it anymore and went to my clinic to have it removed and saw a doctor who was not my usual one. He was very very skeptical of me and my complaint that so much of my body had changed since having it put in. He pulled it and I felt better in about two days, though it took me much longer than that to recover completely. I had to see him for a follow up a week later and I happily said I was feeling much better, and he said, well, how can you know that's even related? I thought I was going to stroke out right there.

A bit later I had an ultrasound to check on things and it had implanted itself and left a huge gouge in my uterus which was noticeable and mentioned on the biopsy/exam of my uterus after my hysto (years after the mirena). Long story longer it's likely I was allergic to it.

I don't think if that doctor often but when I do my murderin hand gets twitchy.

And they wonder why people experiment on themselves with Doctor Google.
