There was a lack of black women voices on GC. Call that insensitivity to race, or racism. I can't cite any numbers as regards to threads dealing with black women, but they were few and often far between, and some of these were too much ignored. Blacks make up 11-12% of the U.S. population, but I'm sure the percentage on GC was more like 3% (have no way of knowing except by reading between the lines and noting voice absences)

Huh? So you're just "guessing" that they weren't there?

I'm a very intelligent guesser when it comes to voices or absent voices (lots of experience with this) But where were the threads, the interest, the learning, the changing.... this was done but only by a very few, who understood the place was not welcoming enough to black women.
