Recruitment. LMFAO. We never did any such thing. People got peaked and found us. Many lurked just to see how "hateful" we were and when they realized we weren't, they joined.

Yup! Years ago I had been banned from /feminism with a note that said they would not give me a reason and if I asked for an explanation they'd escalate my punishment. All of this from what I must assume was an argument I had in their sub with some brigading misogynist. I guess they misinterpreted my castigation as agreement?!? After that experience left a sour taste in my mouth I continued to lurk there (couldn't post thought) and kept participating in other subs. Got chewed out along with another gal for simply asking how a trans boy felt different than we did growing up, us being "tomboys" and all. Then an irl friend posted on Facebook that he thought the women's march seemed "terfy", the very march my pregnant ass marched in. His friends commented a bunch of things about terfs and at that point I just had to investigate further. I mean, if real people I actually know and not just anon on the internet are saying this stuff...Everything said against terfs was always so vague and contradictory. Kept seeing GC mentioned again and again as a hateful sub, but in vague, contradictory ways. Like, really, how can not saying a pronoun LITERALLY be violence. Come the fuck on. After the millionth post on TrollX "Tee hee girls I got my first bra, I feel so valid!" I thought, I'm so fucking tired of this shit and finally, finally checked out GC. As suspected, TRAs were just talking out of their asses. There's some kooks on there, there's even some rad fem values that I don't align with, but the VERY PREMIS of GC they get completely wrong. So I joined because it's the only halfway sane place where a TiM isn't going to butt in with a counter-experience to my lived experience as a woman.
