Have you ever heard the term DINKs before?

The term has been around for generations.

It's exactly what it means, but does not assume their job is non-essential. It assumes they both have jobs that can support a family with kids, but they live an upper-middle income lifestyle instead. The negative connotation from it comes from either jealousy of their freedom+financial status, or people thinking they are "selfish" for not having kids.

And it's never really associated with what the OP mentions. The term originated in New England as an insulting reference to idiots.

We are referring to the acronym "dual income; no kids", not to be confused with the word you linked.

"Jealousy??" This sounds like projection and running defense to me. Who TF is jealous of people like this? Also never heard of the implication of anyone being "selfish" at other people not having kids. There was no real DINK hostility shown here except the way corporations now see them as the "modern audience."

Are you a proud DINK who was deeply offended by this post? Cause it sounds a lot like it the way you're defensively "snapping back" like this.
