I hardly ever visit reddit these days. They're largely just reposting stuff from Tik Tok and Twitter now.

Most of the subs I enjoyed are banned now, but the two off the top of my head that aren't are dead. r/trashy, a 3 million person sub, their front page goes back 9 days! r/cripplingalcoholism, I think they have around 240k subs, their front page goes back a month!!

r/PoliticalCompassMemes, 500k subscribers, still looks healthy. Their front page only goes back 22 hours. Some admin must love that sub though because they get away with a lot more than you usually can on modern reddit.

It's somewhat sad to see Reddit so trashed now. I used to be a big fan. Just to watch it all crumble into shit step-by-step. I feel a bit justified too, they're reaping what they sowed. I never used Digg, but I imagine this might be similar to their downfall. At least the users then had Reddit to run to.

It makes sense that r/cripplingalcoholism is recovering, since last I knew they didn't fall apart due to Reddit policies. They fell apart due to internal bullshit - the original founder got some kind of bug up his ass over something or other and set the channel private.

DuneM is the founder, he pops up every few years but he doesn't do shit, the shutdown was done by that horse cunt, InfiniteBlurs. The sub started going downhill when Maerad handed things over to the outsider, Durchii, and rumor has it Blurs was sweet on him till she got modded. And she really fucking trashed that sub.

Still, after they opened back up, they used to have more posts than they do now. It's a ghost town!

r/crippled_alcoholics is decently active at least.

Support groups not related to political issues and subs dedicated to degradading others make sense to still being alive.

I heard this theory on saidit that the reddit investors want that sub still up because they use it to train AI or study patterns of behaviours on specific individuals. With the whole AI boom I doubt they would kill it now. It's fair to assume that sub had a lot of trouble though.

It's a shame the downfall of reddit was due to the blackout though. I wish it was a slower decline that would take a few until people noticed that it was dead.

When ahs started targeting subs this was going to be the end result. Their sole purpose for exsistance is to destroy communities on Reddit just because they don’t like them. Soon Reddit will have nothing left as the ever changing goal posts of progressive ideologies eventually causes everything to be offensive.

special interest groups which generally avoid politics keep going

I hadn't been there long enuf to see how the more politically involved groups have changed

Even /r/fuckcars got a pride flag lately and I see the wokes infiltrating the groups which will further kill the website I'm sad it's dying but happy at the same time

Country subreddits survive and thrive especially for poorer countries where more and more people are getting access to the internet and finding out about reddit. I barely visit reddit anymore, things have become so that lying on the bed is my favourite position to waste time, much of the time-wasting I do is on the phone now. And no way I'm installing their shitty official app. I have redreader which I use if i really need to, but it never sees any use.

You're right. I checked my country and it's still alive.

I would say it's more that there's no real platform for countries.

Plenty of places seem 'alive', but the moderators are in UBER crackdown. Perma bans for any offense. And if you tell the mods "Hey, you're a piece of shit, remove head from asshole." then you get a site-wide warning (and eventual permaban) from the admins for 'moderator harassment'. So the moderators have 0 incentive to do anything but double-down on their bullshit. This is how you create a dystopian hell.

This was exactly how it was before. There was basically no changes.

Compared to 2 years ago, the bans are nuts. But compared to pre-blackout, yeah, I suppose so.

I guess they got progressively worse.

I think after the blackout any mods/admins that had hopes in the website left so it's only the wokeys running the website now. It's as good as dead.

None of them, and I don't care to ever go back to Reddit and find out. That site can (and should) die a painful death.

As far as the extremeness, you forgot all the trans bullshit they keep pushing into children's or video game subreddits. I see this shit on search engine results now, and it pisses me off. Sick fucking freaks.

that's fucking disgusting

I was banished from there, so no, reddit is intellectually dead. Facebook, twitter, YouTube likewise

[–]bucetao6969[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Facebook, twitter, YouTube likewise

Youtube is not dead just heavily censored. It's one of the most used out there.

Twitter is pretty much the most alive social media at the moment.

I got death penalty from both. Twitter refused to me me back on after Musk bought it

Yeah and I'm the pope.
