Love. Half a million isn't what it used to be. I wonder what people think though if you're talking about generational wealth instead. Would people choose love or to be head of their own Rockefeller style dynasty.

Yeah, I guess I'm inclined to agree. Half a million won't get me a house in the area I live in at the moment, so I might as well have love.
Mind you, if she was really the love of my life, she'd prolly agree to leave for the $500,000, then just come back in secret.

Love of your life needs to be defined further. For example, does it come with a guarantee? Also, your concept of LoYL may be quite different in ten years. Yes, half a mil may not be that much by today's standards but it is about eight kilos of gold. I'd take the money.
