I find race quite arbitrary, what does the amount of pigment in a person's skin have to do with their value as a person? I'd compare it to the analogy of judging a fish by it's ability to climb a tree but it's more akin to judging a fish by its ability to do calculus.

Race is not restricted to colour, and in your paradigm should whales and sharks and basses and salmons get all mixed together? They are all fish after all.

I'm sorry are we talking about humans or all mammals? You might notice some slight differences between a whale and a human. Nice double use of strawman and hasty generalization though.
