Okay, this is hilarious at how wrong it is, with respect to current Conservative policy.

Conservative politicians promote all sorts of dirty fuels, such as coal-fired power plants, over wind and solar power. In fact, they fight against any sort of renewable power that takes jobs away from “traditional sources” such as coal and other fossil fuels.

Conservatives routinely deny that climate change is even a thing, much less human-caused (virtually 100% of the scientific evidence supports human-caused global warming, 0% of the evidence disproves that).

Conservative politicians have just stripped all EPA rules, allowing companies to pollute without restriction in this COVID-19 pandemic. All signs point to this being a new permanent state.

Modern Conservatives are the anti-environmentalists. There just is no other way to frame this fact.

Zimbabwe Gives Land Back to White Farmers After Wrecking Economy by useless_aether in WorldPolitics

As if any farmer with more than two brain cells to rub together would go back there. The political environment is corrupt, and they have shown a clear willingness to poison the well. Plus, the infrastructure that was taken from them has been essentially eviscerated - they have to rebuild from scratch. Who the hell is willing to do that without massive loans at practically 0% interest?

I’m betting the only takers will be large agribusiness corporations who will only go into there with iron-clad legal agreements, large numbers of paid-for politicians actively in power, and a large security force that rivals that of the national military itself. At which point the average Joe citizen of Zimbabwe can just go fuck themselves for all that they will benefit from that arrangement.

Cry me a fucking river.

The 0.1% have an overall net-negative effect on the lower 99%. The 0.01% have a purely net negative effect on the lower 99%.

We could kill off the entire 0.01% and living conditions for the rest of us would improve immeasurably. More money in the economy. More money available for the average Joe. Less money locked up in “investments” whose only functions is to benefit the 0.01% at the expense of the 99% (rent-seeking, etc.).
