Pretty much. Envy and jealousy over the success and prosperity of others is part of the human condition; and is at the core of all of socialist movements. If the white farmers go back, they are idiots - because as soon as their hard work and success makes them wealthy there, the proles will cry for the lands to be given back to natives.

As if any farmer with more than two brain cells to rub together would go back there. The political environment is corrupt, and they have shown a clear willingness to poison the well. Plus, the infrastructure that was taken from them has been essentially eviscerated - they have to rebuild from scratch. Who the hell is willing to do that without massive loans at practically 0% interest?

I’m betting the only takers will be large agribusiness corporations who will only go into there with iron-clad legal agreements, large numbers of paid-for politicians actively in power, and a large security force that rivals that of the national military itself. At which point the average Joe citizen of Zimbabwe can just go fuck themselves for all that they will benefit from that arrangement.

Nope. Someone I met here on SaidIt. Got to know in private chat pretty well, last year. I've met a lot of neat people in person and online over my lifetime, and they are, by far, the most exceptional person I've ever met with a literally one of a kind story that checked out so far as I could tell. Maybe it's all bullshit, and if it is they are a MASTER manipulator, but I have zero reason that I know of to doubt and feel it's authentic. It's epic and tragic and heart-wrenching and hopeful. Would make a great novel/movie if they weren't paranoid with reason. Really wish I could say more.

I don't partake in a lot of things - religion, tribalism, scientism, etc. and anonymity, but the last I actually respect as there is rationality in it.
