You literally cannot mention TheDonald.win without your post being completely shadowbanned, and this seems to apply for many other alternatives too. And this occurred on an already-existing post, not a new post. They searched old posts to nuke them. The whole list of alternatives that was stickied at the top of /r/redditAlternatives was deleted and d3rr had to re-write it like this to get past their new keyword filter.

Just realize that the internet now has the most youngest people the internet has ever had. These youtubers you mention are famous in the 8-14 year old demographic. That's literally their audience, and how they got the views that gave them ad revenue. So much of the internet is being re-organized around the behavior of children, because they are easy to influence and a child's pageload looks just the same to the advertising agencies as any other internet traffic.
But I think we're seeing this trend peak, but it's still got some mileage left in it.
Then add on top of that all the propaganda, and special interest groups, and astroturfing... and you get the internet we see today.
But for us people who remember how the internet used to be 10 years ago or more... it leaves a sour taste.
That's part of why saidit exists. Trying to re-establish some maturity, logic, and sensibility in to internet culture again. Instead of letting it all get overwhelmed by literal childish nonsense.

ShareBlue and other similar DNC-based social media promotion groups run reddit now, and the recent spate of bans just proves it. And I'm sure thedonald.win is similarly run by Cambridge Analytica, which is why it had such meteoric success and is now banned from mention on reddit by automated insta-shadow-deletion.
We're not seeing two real cultures fight, we're seeing two media PR organizations fight a cultural war, and the common man is just fodder getting ground up in the machine. Saidit, ideally, is here to help counterbalance these unnaturally-manufactured online cultures.

I learned it by making a website that got popular enough to be attacked constantly, and I was basically forced to learn it, haha. But I do enjoy it, it's a lot like the cool computer stories I used to read about as a teenager, where you can see all this connecting activity happening to the server and you have to come up with tricks and tools to prevent each type of weakness in the system as the problems arise in real-time.
If you want to learn the basics, I suggest reading about cloudflare, and all the hundreds of settings that can be set within that commonly-used firewall program. If you understand all the options within cloudflare, you're very well on your way to having a good understanding of cybersecurity. Cloudflare sits in front of the server, and if we get a billion requests it can deal with that and only let the appropriate traffic through. The hard part is coming up with good rules for what is considered "appropriate traffic", which is often unique to every site

You saidit. And also the US presidential election cycles, you can practically see the propaganda swell up in the months prior. And then it suddenly all stops right after the election is over. Shareblue and Cambridge Analytica probably control a good portion of the American social media internet between the two of them, at this point. Internet cultural astroturfing is definitely a "thing" now, and every organization is doing it because it's cheap and very effective. And it's effective, because many people are still under the mistaken impression that social media votes and comments 100% correlate to public opinion. When in reality they can be bought and sold just like giant billboards. Which is basically what reddit has become. A giant billboard.

On top of all this, voat also made a voting system where if you're a new account, you can't downvote others until you get 100 upvotes. And you can only give so many upvotes per hour before you get 100 upvotes. And only post and comments so many times per hour. And if you get downvoted at all, that gets even more limited.
So basically if you go against the hivemind, the established culture on voat downvotes you in to silence, and then you can't even downvote them back. So this karma-limited account system made the echo-chamber culture feedback loop go exponential. So when the extremists actually got a hold of the site culture, there was no coming back from it

Not even just communist, but authoritarian technocrats.
There's all shades of authoritarians pushing their censorship. If you want to see right-wing authoritarian censorship, go to thedonald.win and post something like "Zionists control this website" or a factual negative thing about Trump, and watch it disappear.
The left-backed censorship is just more obvious because they have control of more major websites, like reddit. But sites like thedonald.win and voat show that the right is doing the same thing if given the chance.
So I think it's really an authoritarian vs anti-authoritarian thing, more than a right vs left thing.
It's like this political cartoon: https://grrrgraphics.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/march_of_tyranny1.jpg

Well d3rr seems to agree, so perhaps I've over-reached and banned when I should not have. He was really riding that line, where some posts were great, and others were obviously divide-and-conquer disinformation. His refusal to further his understanding on issues that he would constantly post about was dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate.
I will unban him and give him another chance. Trust me this is not a decision I made lightly, this literally took up 3 hours of my day today and he received many warnings beforehand. And he did agree to not ever to post posts advocating violence again, like did yesterday. But I will reverse the decision since both you and d3rr seem to think I've made a mistake by banning him, and I also do think he had a lot of good posts that I will miss. He did make 5 more accounts to post content as ban evasions though, so that wasn't a good look either.
But okay, I'll undo the ban. He gets one more chance.

He's banned because he drags down the quality of discussion on this website noticeably which is against site rules. He was also calling anyone who disagreed with him about anything a "shill". It was around just before reddit, so it was valuable and a lot of people used it. But reddit's format was obviously superior in the long run.
