Okay, ignoring the main point of the article...

A Court of Mist and Fury, admittedly, is chock full of gratuitous sex scenes. To the point where you kind of want to skip over them to get back to the meat of the story. But the two characters involved are a straight married couple. Isn't male-female sex in the bounds of marriage exactly what American conservatives say is the only acceptable kind of sex? So what's the issue??

"Not buying it" is (possibly American) slang for "not believing it".

A community that ripped me apart with all kinds of unscientific bullshit like "humans can't digest plant vitamins", "the placenta blocks plant nutrients", "vegan pregnancies are child abuse" now suddenly has an entire circle devoted to veganism? Yeah, no. Pretty stupid plan to try to gather vegans together on a website that is so cult-like in their obsession over meat. Kind of ironic since ovarit started to get away from people denying the biology of sex, but then they all jumped on to deny a different aspect of biology.

There are plenty of better, less anti-intellectual vegan communities to join, so, yeah, no, not buying that this is suddenly an accepting place for vegans.

As a woman, I will say that this can also just become a force of habit and a speech pattern, not necessarily an actual sentiment. I use "Sorry, but" the same way someone might use "Excuse me" to interject into a conversation.

It maybe sets a bad precedent, but some speech habits are hard to break. ..though, granted, I don't think that's what's happening in that thread, I think the transcult has legitimately made these people afraid to speak up, since any dissent is considered transphobic hate speech, but still, just wanted to throw in my two cents.
