Some good things that have come from this... by reallylovesguacamole in GenderCritical

I always felt conflicted on being on Reddit. Their behavior is no surprise, it's always been a misogynist shitshow. r/GC was an amazing community and information source for me, and finding it was a huge part of resolving my cognitive dissonance around libfem ideology. But really, it doesn't matter where the community is hosted as long as women can find it. I'm of the "I don't want to be part of any club that doesn't want me as a member" school of thought. Fuck them.

Liberal feminism: the most shallow feminism ever by [deleted] in GenderCritical

Good points, all. Some observations I can make about the most vocal liberal feminists I know are:

  1. They don't read feminist texts or theory, and get all of their information from social media. They confidently say things like "second wave feminists weren't intersectional", but they say this because they think Germaine Greer is a TERF, not because they know or care about black feminists feeling alienated during women's liberation.
  2. Echoing your point, they actually don't treat the women in their lives very well. They are so focused on sloganeering and looking pure that they don't live feminist values.
  3. They think they're brave feminist warriors, but they subscribe to the most male centered/male pleasuring views about porn and "sex work".

He knows what he's doing. He's intelligent in the mediocre way of men who've read a few books and consider themselves good at debating because they enjoy it. The kind of dude who wants to debate you because they think they're soooo much smarter than you...and of course, they're never as smart as they think they are.

I could get through the whole video, but I found the "Shame" video he did hilarious. He talks about realizing he was gay because though he'd really tried to be straight and only attracted to men, he realized he was a lesbian after discovering attraction to another transwoman. I mean, the mental gymnastics it must require to be a man, play acting as a woman, pretending to be ashamed of lesbianism, because you've become attracted to another man pretending to be a woman. What?

He can't ever know what it's like to be a lesbian, and pretending to be ashamed is just part of the elaborate performance. Surely he knows that deep down.

I was so upset when I tried to get onto GenderCritical and saw that it had been banned. I hadn't posted there for a while, but the sub had been a huge part of my life for the past couple of years. I checked it daily.

I am so angry not just about the purge of feminists from Reddit, but the blatant lying I've observed since. Whilst lurking on other subs to see reactions, I've seen the most boldfaced lies about what kind of conversations were happening on GC.

Anyway, this has only made me more determined to hold fast to what I know is right and true.
