This has nothing to do with being woke. That sounds like your issue.
Print Media has been in decline for decades.

Woke is a disease that stands to alienate major portions of markets with every entity it infects. I'll grant you that it is mainly a result of the decline in print but a lot of sports fans were turned off by SI's trans swimsuit caper as well as other moves championing as normal the mental illness that is gender dysmorphia.
Yes, I have an issue with it... though my issue is with the cancer posing as leadership that insists on pushing it.
When institutions like SI begin pushing these agendas, people like myself who might otherwise throw support behind the foundering sports publication are happy to see it crash and burn.
