Maybe.. I've went back and forth on it. I do think that largely, you're right.

However, if there was a religion or "church/temple/mosque/whatever" that helped to aid people on their journeys and even to focus their prayers, it would be helpful. Many churches still do a lot of good by volunteering and helping their communities. We need more like that, but with ways of preventing corruption and abuse within them.
