The same tired steps/requirements repeated endlessly over the many decades slightly reworded, usually, to avoid plagiarism.

Few of the multitude of advice givers ever mention the absolute requirement of LUCK. Or lack thereof. Luck involves timing that can not always be planned or prepared for. A multitude of outside influences affects all entrepreneurial efforts.

A random example brought up from memory of a long-ago occurrence; the eager young fellow with the bright idea strove mightily to plane and prepare to bring to market his gadget. The gadget was an improved version of an already-existing item whose patent had expired. A couple days before the great grand-opening was to occur a major manufacturer with vast resources and an existing distribution system brought out THEIR new version that was not a copy of his and actually slightly better in quality. Guess what happened to the lad's great product and idea? Yep . . . all that time and money down the drain.

And so it goes.
