Then they can turn around and say they aren't teaching CRT, because it's hidden in all the other subjects.

Right. You and most normal people. This is why you are seeing parents arrested at school board meetings and teachers resigning when they are told what they can't teach. This bizarre shit has been pushed for years and it's finally coming to light. Time for push-back.
