Instead of ensuring a process where everyone, regardless of species, is deeply informed on their political systems, the consequences, and their options, you would rather just remove an entire species-based class because of why?

We'll have to agree to disagree.
Probably not. People in general don't seem capable of doing anything other than seeking out the next dopamine boost anymore, at least in the West. The spark is missing from the grand majority, and at this point there's too many busted ass, broken souls to make any real beneficial societal changes anyway.
