Hardly surprising when you make them so automated and complicated.
They are now just stupidly expensive, heavy, complex fashion statements that have totally sucked the fun out of driving.
I'd rather keep my 10 year old truck than own a new one. When I tried test-driving the newer trucks last year I hated them. Lovely in a way, and yet utter shit in others.

This is true. My S-10 was pricey when I bought it a couple years ago. It had 50000 miles on it, and no rust. I am super glad it's mine though. Totally worth the cash.
