You an indica, sativa, or hybrid man?

My personal fav tends to be sativa but I like switching it up. You?

I started using cannabis only a few years ago when I got my medical card, would have never tried it probably if I hadn't developed epilepsy at 17 out of no where.

I thought I was an indica guy for a long time, but ironically in the last year I’ve begun to discover certain sativa strains work way better for all the epileptic symptoms I face on a daily basis (like partial seizures/brain zaps that are unnoticeable to everyone else, but I feel the zaps in my head, muscle spasms that last hours and myoclonic jerks.. one time I was holding a glass cup when I first woke up and had an intense myoclonic jerk and literally threw the cup across my kitchen like a baseball and shattered it lol) - for the past year I’ve been blending strains.

I’ll always get three strains at once, at least two high in cbd and one high in thc and mix all three. I honestly don’t care about strain names or anything like that - I care about the cannabinoid and terpen content (terpens have medical qualities too and are found in all plants, like the terpen β-myrcene which is one I look out for, it can also be found in mangoes, hops, bay laurel leaves, thyme, lemongrass, and basil. It’s good for it’s anticonvulsant, sedative and antidepressant effects).

Rn, I’m mixing she-devil, cheese cake and vanilla frosting. I only smoke if I wake up with brain zaps - that means I’m going to be sick that day. I usually have the most intense myoclonic jerks when I first wake up (and those are the noticeable ones).

I have to be honest tho, I’m not a “drug” person at all (especially after developing epilepsy, I have a hard time of “letting go”, I feel I need to be in control of my reality due to seizures and the feeling you get before one), but cannabis has worked better for epilepsy than any pharmaceutical. There were times when I was on certain anticonvulsants and would have 3 full blown seizures in a row. Now I go years without having a seizure, and the only different thing is cannabis. I’ve had maybe 3-4 grand mal seizures since I started using it.

But enough about me - dead ass if gme does what I think it’ll do, if you gots a P.O. Box or somethin, I’ll send you a free legitimate, sealed and boxed vape tank from a medical dispensary. I’ll even let you choose your strain!

Myrcene is one of my favorite terps, it's good for sleeping.

Were/are you on antidepressants, because they can cause that.

Nope! Never touched any antidepressants (until college and epilepsy, ngl, I was pretty depressed getting diagnosed with an untreatable disease during my senior year when everyone was partying and having fun, and anxious af of seizing in public for the first two years. I was only on them for maybe 1-2 weeks tops, the side effects were unbearable and I’ve read enough reputable studies to know what they do to your brain long term). Fuck pharmaceutical antidepressants, fuck big pharma in general. So this wasn’t caused by anything like that; however I do have a friend irl who was trying to quit smoking, so the doctor gave him Wellbutrin and two weeks in he had his first seizure ever (for both me and him, we have no family history of epilepsy or neurological disorders). He stopped after the seizure obviously but still has them to this day - now he’s diagnosed with epilepsy (and his epilepsy is worse than mine. He has seizures almost every other day). Wellbutrin is seriously dangerous, it’s caused epilepsy to develop in many users along with other neurological side effects that can be permanent like ticks, shaking, spasms that don’t stop.

And I got you :) I offered a tank because there’s no smell. They’re easy to ship. I’m not joking, I’ll be in touch about this 😊

That's actually why I mentioned it. I was on Wellbutrin and now I shake sometimes. My doctors still seem to love prescribing the anti depressant class for everything from pain to sleep and I try them but it makes the shaking worse.

I think they're largely useless medications.

They’re doing a good job at fucking people up and leaving them off worse than before they took them! I hear and feel for you, I’m sorry that happened. That’s fucked.

It happens a lot with people who are on Benzos long term too. they’re even prescribing antipsychotics now off-label for normal people who have insomnia or anxiety, it’s insane. I tried seroqil once years back because the doctor insisted I try a “low dose” for sleep (I have insomnia and lack of sleep/stress is my seizure trigger, not flashing lights and things like that).

I literally felt like a tranquilized animal, and that prevented me from sleeping. Only took one pill and chucked the bottle. You can look it up, there are studies showing long term changes in the brain among people who use these “mental health” meds long term. And then there are the withdrawals.. which they relabel “discontinuation syndrome” so you don’t think of it as what it actually is.. withdrawal from a drug..

It’s a dirty practice all around imho, none of them are cures, some are band aids for people, and it’s common practice if one antidepressant didn’t work for you/gave you bad side effects, for a doctor to insist you keep trying until you find one “good for you”. But even if one feels like it’s helping, it’s just a band aid. And there’s a high chance for potential future repercussions as you age.

They also treat depression like it’s a blanket disease - there are many different reasons why one may be depressed, life circumstances, traumatic experiences, loneliness, hopelessness, diet, lifestyle, new stages in life, etc, but they act like it’s always a chemical imbalance that needs to be fixed. And they don’t even fully understand the method of action of these drugs lol.

Shit if you got diagnosed with something severe you’d be depressed about it too lol. That’s natural. They’re so quick with the pills though.
