Animals do what is natural for them. We have the ability to change our nature. Completely. Few people go this far. But they exist. And can be scarier than any animal.
Monsters still pursue pleasure and run from pain, but their ways for doing it can be completely alien. Impossible to predict. Very hard to understand.

there are evil and morally good animals... I've met both.
I once came upon a squirrel eating the face off another squirrel while it was still alive.
People seem to sometimes forget that human beings are a type of animal.

lol... I don't doubt that that is the case, but fortunately it is something I've only ever seen once. and at that moment it involved squirrels.
