A U.S. citizen who is a bona fide resident of a foreign country or countries for an uninterrupted period that includes an entire tax year
This was the thing that made it not possible. I worked there for 6 months but lived there for a year, but during the last 6 months I had to leave every 90 days to reset my visitor visa, so I was not there for an uninterrupted year technically.
