A lot of people are "sickly" though. It's dangerous to people with asthma, heart palpitations, and other somewhat common conditions.

Obesity is listed as a risk factor for serious illness.

    40ish % of Americans are obese. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/obesity-overweight.htm

It doesn’t appear that we do face greater risks every day. COVID-19 is a leading cause of death this year. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/covid-19-compared-to-other-common-us-causes-of-death-2020-5%3famp

I still don't understand how we live in a society that wants to keep its sick AND elderly or terminally ill around for as long as possible. There is no quality of life left and they eat up resources and money.

I cannot believe I was demanded to act to save a bunch of old farts who were already half dead and people who treat themselves like a dumpster. I live in a country that expects me to lose my job and housing and income so fleshbags being kept alive on numerous medications, who therefore should already be dead, can be barely alive for another year or two. That's extremely fucked up.

I hate my governor but one thing he did right was put Rona patients in nursing homes. He did us a favor in cleaning house. Now my state isn't having a peak of cases this summer like it supposedly should be having and I bet it is because he did this, and also because he fucked up and loads of this state got sick early on.

I think that both the group concerned with a loss of civil rights via potentially unconstitutional governor executive orders and the group concerned with a lack of civil rights via police brutality both think that are are some things so important that they are worth the risk of the virus.

Unfortunately, neither “side” seems to recognize how much they have in common with the other, so both are pretty disrespectful of the other.

It's not a "both sides" argument. Scientists and doctors have come out on the side of BLM. You can literally point to articles weeks apart that state my side's gatherings good, The Other's are breeding grounds for disease.

Of course there's the little matter of it not being about police but being an attempted Maoist style cultural revolution.

And that the Nazis frequently used disease metaphors to describe Jews.

Once again, credit where it is due.

I agree that it does really stink how political everyone is making disease precautions.

From what I’ve been able to tell, it seems that outdoor gathering is pretty low risk. I’m not aware that there have been any upticks in viral spread associated with any protests. Should mean that we’re all pretty free to protest for what we believe without concern!

    [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

That's because some state governments have explicitly disallowed asking about protests in contact tracing.

Oh, I didn’t mean from contact tracing. Just from looking at whether states that had big protests have had upticks in cases.

There's no motivation for Democrats to manipulate the statistics? There is a huge motivation.

And only one side is shooting people in the face with rubber bullets. I’m pretty concerned that our government is using deadly force against protestors and violently attacking curfew breakers.

I see faults and virtue everywhere. I prefer to look for common ground, so that we can try to unite as a people with respect and mutual understanding.

I am very concerned about governments using lethal force against their citizenry. I think we need to watch very carefully for the difference between keeping the peace and authoritarian governmental overstep.

What behavior do you think warrants you being executed by your government?

some things so important that they are worth the risk of the virus.

But I have brought this up stated very clearly that this is the case to friends who are far left and they disagree. I've told them over and over that the argument against destroying the economy is because of the freedom to have a business and of enterprise and trying to make your own way financially, and they tell me basically that I'm being stupid and want people to die. And then they go do whatever the hell they want in the name of blacks, including destroying those businesses. I don't think they truly want the same thing. I want people to have the freedom to live as they need in order to progress and have good lives and some of those things ARE so important to me that they are worth the risk, I don't think BLM supporters want those things at all. They sure seem to love destruction.

They don't actually believe any of that, they are just plain hypocrites and they know it. They also know they can get away with it because Hollywood and the Libtard media is on their side.
