You come to a new site, isn't happy with the existing culture and wishes to form it to your own ideal even at the cost of the existing culture.

I never said that I was unhappy? And of course i said the same thing as the last guy considering that i explained what I thought he was trying to say. Your detective work is top notch.

If only this was a free speech site or even a site that advocated free speech...

"We're trying to create an environment that encourages thought-provoking discussion, like how reddit used to be 7+ years ago, when Aaron Swartz was still around." "When voting on content, please think of the Pyramid of Debate, as we aspire to the upper levels and get to the truth of what's being discussed, and to let everyone have their say." From Magnora's "welcome to saidit" post. Sounds pretty free speech to me.

And "the existing culture"? Really? Sounds pretty elitist - if encouraging saidit to have people of all ideologies and all opinions populate the site and discuss/debate with civility, and not impose an echochamber is "against the existing culture" then I'm against the existing culture. But I don't think everyone here thinks like you on this subject, so I won't claim that I'm against any aspect of saidit's "culture".

Aaron Swartz

It always makes me sad reading his name. His story broke my heart. Anyone's interested should watch Internet's own boy movie.
