I had a LOT of TVs and VCRs (good for raves) in Toronton in 93-95, the last place I recall paying for cable, then I moved to NYC and had none while animating on commercials for years. At some point I acquired a TV there for a while and it was easy enough to just plug into a coax on the roof. Didn't have a TV in San Francisco or Oakland. Somehow acquired one in Vancouver in 2009 though it only collected dust. Haven't had once since, and we have cable included here, unused by me, but that's changing to fibre that I can actually use. Never bought a TV. Or a car. Also, only bought one of my 3 motorcycles.
