The Pheonm II has larger cores. Without watching the video, I'm banking on it. FX series was a mistake.

FX Series was to match the Intel chips. The Pheonm II was to surpass the Intel chips. Most of the tests didn't use the advanced instruction sets found in the FX, otherwise, it might be faster.

I recall in the old days certain CPUs had certain attributes which made them effective with overclocking versus a price point
