Because those countries it gets mined in dont support or enforce environmental laws. The companies mining dont abide by them if they are there, and the people running the mines in those countries are entirely corrupt. If the laws were in place and enforced like they are in our countries then a lot of that would not be happening.

its also that scaling up the whole thing - the expense will price many people out of it - another thing adding to control
