It's a good list what I've read so far.

You can easily buy about twelve novels (a year's worth of entertainment!) at a fraction of the monthly bills footed for these expensive cable services.

12 novels is like a week of entertainment for me. Kindle Unlimited is handy. It's $10 a month but if you read a lot it's cheaper than buying individual books. Or the Libby app is incredibly handy for reading ebooks from your local library, don't pay at all.

But I didn't abandon TV. We share services like Netflix, Disney+, and could do it with things like Prime and Spotify also. It's a lot cheaper spread out among several users. And there are a number of free streaming services like PlutoTV, Crackle, Vudu, IMDB TV, etc.
