Tor is compromised. Anyone who uses tor is putting a huge target on their back, imo

Depends what for, but then it's the same with VPNs if you pay 'anonymously'. If they want you they can certainly get you and sometimes that's pretty dope (child abuse sites and stuff).
But I agree that an Edward snowden/journalist with very damaging info would be better of offline.
