Why so many people keep wasting a lot of time reading news while (at least, most people here) we are all aware that we are intentionally misinformed?

Entertainment. It's not so different from watching a soap opera. And I think you can read in-between the lines with a skeptical eye, and draw your own conclusions from the information presented.
