The electoral college needs to go.

The electoral college delegates are already proportional to the state population, so the popular vote of the citizens is effectively nullified. There isn't really a significant benefit.

The fact that some states have are "winner takes all" elector laws is outrageous. These states are the locations of the majority of election fraud by the two parties.

Specifically, Florida and Ohio.
These are the focus of both parties campaigns, because presidential elections can be easily stolen by cheating in a relatively small number of voting precincts.

Get rid of the electoral college, and the fraud of red states and blue states will fade within a decade.
No state will go for any party, because all of the individual votes count.

On a somewhat related, but unpopular topic.

The founding fathers were actually concerned about the possibility of real democracy, so they rigged it with the electoral nonsense.

The main idea was, "to protect the minority of the opulent, from the majority".

So we got the electoral college, and the Senate.

Federal senators used to be appointed by each state's house of representatives. The public didn't vote for them.
Early senators were unelected officials.
The Senate has the power to approve/reject federal judges (and other appointments), so they can tip the checks and balances.
The founding fathers knew what they were doing. However, the system can works 200 years later, so...

If you want your vote to count, then get rid of the electoral college. The smaller states won't have less if a vote. The votes will be more proportional. All of them.

Force the parties to cheat at more voting precincts, so they'll get caught somewhere.
They won't stop cheating, so we should make it much more difficult to get away with it...

Edit: The guiding principle "to protect the minority of the opulent, from the majority" hasn't really changed much.

The wealthy corporations pay lower tax rates, and receive more benefits. Corporate personhood should be abolished, to end the modern version of slavery.

The corporate owner class (opulent) understand that they run the country.

Unfortunately, most people don't recognize that they have been enslaved...
