The democrats won the argument. They should celebrate. You know how hard it is to persuade people? The Democrats pulled it off, and we should all tip our hats to them.

Why should the Republicans pay down the debt, when the next Democratic administration, which is coming at some point, is just going to spend like a drunken sailor? Better to spend now and gain the benefit. This has been the Democrats modus operandi for a long time, and they have won the argument and the GOP lost. Congratulations are in order.
