Here's what she missed; they're not turning to the Right. They're turning to the Anti-Left.

They've got no interest in the few policy ideas still identifiable as "right." They don't want to seal off the borders to immigrants or force women to have unwanted children or enforce mandatory school prayer.

They just think the left are a bunch of fucking cunts, and the reason they think that is the left are a bunch of fucking cunts. They have a culture of hyperjudgmentalism and they get off on aggressively flouting a moral superiority that doesn't have a single actual action to back it up.

I know this group well because I'm in it. I could never vote for a Republican, but now I can't vote for a Demcrat either, so I just shrugged and cancelled my voter registration.

No comrade, you had me until the last bit! Re-register and vote Losertarian. If they get >5% this cycle, they'll get public funding next cycle, and maybe someone worth voting for could actually end up in the race.

Ehh, without a parliamentary system or at least national IRV, no third party can ever be more than a spoiler in this system.

So unless those things come someday, thirty-partying it seems like nothing more than wasted time.

This system desperately needs a spoiler, at the least!

The authors are members of the repressor party, who believe that they are the "good guys".

It's unthinkable for these brainwashed people to consider that they are in support of the wrong side.

Every communist regime was full of people who are like these folks.

And when their system inevitable fails, they'll blame the people who could no longer support a flawed ideology.

"Socialism hasn't worked, because they didn't do it right."

Yeah... I'm pretty sure it [socialism] actually worked, as intended. The useful idiots were completely oblivious to the actual purpose.

Becoming an adult usually leads to having to think about someone beside yourself once you become a parent. A little common sense concern for the future of your young person will tend to "progressively" erode the presumed logic of the left as time goes on.

IMO this is a central reason the radicals of the left are championing gender perversion as a legitimate, normal, and healthy "lifestyle" as well as pushing hard for abortion.

Followed to its ultimate end, gender affirming care will likely render its victim sterile. Homosexual relationships will not produce children. Guiding a generation away from a lifestyle that would "burden" them with offspring will free up more adult-age voters to continue to languish in their protective selfish bubbles insulated from the inconvenient epiphanies that expose the long term implications of the toxic and destructive policies their leftist heroes in power are pushing.

Unfettered, most who possess the common sense to not fall victim to the gender canoodling will gravitate away from leftism.

Common sense. I was always center left, but never was a rabid follower of politics. Then Trump came. I didn't vote for him, but my friends and family went nuts over his win. I didn't get it as a lot of them didn't even vote and never even mentioned politics before. I was doing Lyft and Uber part-time at the time, and per usual, I would chat with people about nearly everything (that was the best thing about that, besides the easy money - getting to chat with folks), and I immediately saw the rift appear. Younger, obviously lefty people were just completely toxic. Anyone who voted for Trump or didn't characterize him as Hitler was a nazi, while the Trump folks were just "hey, you vote for who you think will do the best for the country." I've never felt alienated or hated by folks on the right, but boy do I get it from the left. No wonder people are tired of that shit.
