I don't have kids, but if I did, I would absolutely want to know what they're learning about in school. I would absolutely want to know what the school's administrators are talking to them about outside of what they're actually there for. I would absolutely want to know if there's someone acting out in a way that could them caught up and hurt.

And I would absolutely be pissed if someone told me that I don't need to know any of that for any reason.
