All ADHD medications are performance enhancing drugs.

They say "these drugs make ADHD kids normal but they have a different effect on other kids and they abuse them to do better". No ADHD kids are underperforming for their age and the drugs simply enhance their performance to normal levels in exactly the same way as they effect everyone else.

There are many other ways to get kids falling behind up to speed but they require an investment of time.

Imo it's not mutually exclusive. Too many underperforming kids are given speed and that's not right. And even if they would benefit from stims, giving those to developing children sounds like a terrible idea.

Although it doesn't mean the meds don't help. One example is trying to pay attention to something, say a movie. Normally I put on a movie and I'm reading a book or writing comments online. I can't just sit there and watch just the movie unless it's particularly engrossing, which few are. I take a stimulant and all of a sudden I don't feel this compulsion to keep switching what I'm doing as my brain goes off on another tangent. It's nice to be able to sit through a movie.

Do you have the same problem if you are watching in the cinema?

I'm not an asshole, I mean I don't try to be, I'm not disturbing everyone else in a theater with my phone, so usually I end up falling asleep if the movie isn't engaging.

also, if shes 'not wanting to sit in the same spot',we give her something to ramp her up even more? wtf?

Adderall isn't meth, but it helps you focus.

The problem with ADHD is metals and vegetables. Chelate the metals out, make the kid eat only meat, problem solved.

Adderall isn't meth like pepsi isn't coke, they aren't the same thing but they're very closely related.

I've used both. I know.

Pespi and Coke? At the same time!?

Adderall is a racemic mix of amphetamines, and no meth in it at all. I know, I have a prescription, I used to take it, it's gentle, not saying a 6-year-old should take it but it's A LONG WAYS from meth's effects. There is prescription meth, I forget its name. It is not ADDERALL.

Desoxyn is the brand name of prescription methamphetamine.
