The arguement only makes sense if you don't believe these gods exist, which is not really how religion works.

It's likely for social skittles, forever just fucking virtue signaling. It reminds me an awful lot of Tumblr, which was amazing for laughs and some relatively neat art, despite its hideously unusable layout and generally subhuman userbase.
