Boris Johnson's great great grandmother was a slave.

My great great grandfather and his brothers were bought from an orphanage and stuck down the mines so their guardian could collect their wages.

These things are never clear cut.

The past was brutal.

And of course slavery still continues today.

I take some solace, if that’s even the right word, having a mother who was extremely into genealogy, and if any of my recent (within a few hundred years) ancestors were wealthy enough to own slaves, I’d know. That said, any thinking person knows it’s only so far back for any human being before an ancestor reproduced via rape or some horrible arrangement. Short of directly inheriting wealth from a recent slave owner, the notion of having any guilt for their sins is just stupid.

Not just him, his whole family also descended from the same woman.

Thus proving it's really about class. It's a tragic coincidence they didn't think of diversity back then because it could have at least prevented a whole layer of society from becoming one monolithic ethnic group. That could have helped people to focus more on the real problems like ultra wealthy people that can control society like a game of sid meyer's civilization.

And whites owned Caucasian slaves, lolol.... Only it's not really funny, quite sad really.
