That's just tradition.

I remember back during the Jon Stewart era, I'd see a ton of headlines like "Stewart EVISCERATES <insert evil conservative here>". It got so bad even Stewart starting making fun of some of those headlines about him.

I agree. I think it might be a nice idea for Saidit to simply format all post titles to lower-case. It won't take out the word, but it will remove the yell factor. It's a place to start.
