While bumble bees live socially in hives usually located underground (with 50 - 500 individuals), foragers or males can happen to sleep in flowers, especially when tired after too much work

Some bumble bees made their hive in my peat..... I needed that thang.

This is true. Go out to any flowered plant close to dark, and you'll probably find some bees on it. Though I thought it was the males who are "drones" and stay in the nest all the time.
