I have a tarp over my tomatoes here in Europe. The sun is too powerful right now.

Thanks for your report from Europe. I heard that temperature records are being broken there. I pray your tomato plants would survive.

Plants need full sun to produce a good harvest, but it is currently too hot, so I am trying to help the plants survive until cooler weather comes and then I would remove the covers.

How could food crops, like wheat and corn, survive this extreme heat?  Building tents for farmland is not a sustainable way of feeding the world's population.  Famines are here.  The only way to survive is to turn away from sin and trust in the Lord.  A real living faith is required, so that we may boldly say,

The Lord is my Shepherd.... I shall not want.

Our Father, who art in heaven, give us this day our daily bread.

If we need shade, we could grow shade.

Trees provide shade, but people could starve to death waiting for that source of shade to grow up. Here is one consequence of scorching heat:

a heatwave scorched India’s wheat belt this spring, leading to a smaller-than-expected 2022 crop.

How hot is it where you live?

Here in Hot Springs, Arkansas, it got up to 96°F yesterday with no cloud cover. One weather forecast for today shows a possible high of 100°F. Since it was only the first day of summer, and still early in the planting season, many garden and farm plants have not yet established the deep roots they need to survive this kind of scorching heat.

Used to make papeer hats out of newspaper and poke a hole and slide them down a steak over each plant. Don't keep them in the shade too long!

Interesting idea and thanks for the tip!
