I built simple tents over some of my vulnerable garden plants to give them cover and protection from the heat and scorching sun. I am trying to help them survive until better weather comes.

How hot is it where you live?

Here in Hot Springs, Arkansas, it got up to 96°F yesterday with no cloud cover. One weather forecast for today shows a possible high of 100°F. Since it was only the first day of summer, and still early in the planting season, many garden and farm plants have not yet established the deep roots they need to survive this kind of scorching heat.
