Isn't ultimately Visa and Mastercard (or to be more precise, the US government) that prohibit such things? If that weren't the case, someone would jump into the business of providing controversial funding actions.

Without any analysis "news" has no value. What's the size of the market for controversial funding?

I think the problem is that ultimately people don't want freedom as given by whatever is the most advanced cryptocurrency around (not sure what else was developed after Monero that is ostensibly better). If humanity had a brain, they would all demand to be paid everything above minimum wage in a cryptocurrency. Why would anyone want to be paid in a currency that others can print an infinite amount more of? Trading oil (well, in a time when oil actually had only positive value and wasn't consider a liability in some ways too) against dollars is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.
